Rapid Hygiene Testing

At Ideal Response, we don’t assume things are clean because they look clean – even if we’re the ones that have done the cleaning! We apply systematic, reliable methods to test for different sources of contamination in properties affected by fire, flooding, trauma or spills. These can include organic matter, microbes and other harmful pollutants and if left untreated, can pose health risks to anybody in the environment.

We conduct hygiene testing before cleaning in order to verify the level of contamination and to determine the best methods and equipment needed to fully eradicate contaminants in the area. Once we’ve carried out our specialist hygiene service, further testing is carried out to verify that the methods applied have been successful – and if not, we go again until it’s done!

Our testing methods aim to identify the presence of micro-organisms known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate). If we detect these, it indicates the presence of harmful bacteria. This testing need not only be used in the event of a known contamination – it can be applied to assist with the early identification of possible risks and as a method for evidencing ‘due diligence’ actions, providing peace of mind that the environment is once more safe to inhabit.
