Comprehensive deep clean for Eastbourne factory

The Problem

Over time, industrial factories accumulate heavy dirt, grime, and grease, which can impact both safety and efficiency. A metalworks factory in Eastbourne, was preparing to vacate their premises and needed a comprehensive deep clean before handing it over.

Challenges:

  • Years of grime build-up on concrete flooring, ceiling cladding, and brick walls.
  • Heavy dust accumulation from fabrication work, making walls difficult to repaint.
  • Grease and oil stains embedded into the concrete floor.
  • Need for wastewater management during the cleaning process.

To ensure an accurate quotation, we conducted a site survey, allowing us to assess the condition of the factory, take measurements, and determine the best cleaning methods.

The Solution

Step 1: Factory Strip-Out

Before starting the deep clean, we removed all existing fittings and fixtures, ensuring a clear space for efficient cleaning.

Step 2: High-Temperature Steam Cleaning (DOFF System)

Our team of three technicians (one senior and two junior specialists) deployed two DOFF cleaning systems to tackle the built-up grime. The DOFF system is a steam-based cleaning method that:

  • Uses high-pressure steam to break down dirt, grease, and dust.
  • Is adjustable for different surfaces, including plasterboard and painted walls.
  • Is eco-friendly, using minimal chemicals while delivering powerful results.

Step 3: Specialist Water Damage Drying Process

  • Concrete flooring was cleaned using industrial floor scrubbers to eliminate years of embedded dirt and grease.
  • Water waste was managed using Numatic WVD1800DH wet vacuums, which collected and transferred the waste into an IBC tank for safe disposal.

The Result

The factory cleaning project was completed in just 5 days! It transformed the space, leaving it:

  • Spotless and ready for decoration.
  • Free from dust, grease, and grime.
  • In compliance with handover requirements.

With the factory cleaned and prepped, the metalworks company was able to proceed with their vacating process smoothly.
