Flooding is perhaps one of the biggest concerns in Bristol. The River Avon runs through the heart of the city, gathering the River Frome before meeting one of the largest tidal ranges in the world, the Severn Estuary. When a high spring tide, a storm surge and high river flow arrive at the same time, the flood risk is real. It’s estimated that over 1,000 homes and businesses are at risk . Over the last decade, more than 20 tidal floods have been reported, and in 2020, the city witnessed the highest river level ever recorded. Add some heavy rainfall, and surface water becomes an issue, overwhelming the drains and sewer network in the older low-lying neighbourhoods.
The types of property common in Bristol also shape much of our work. There are a large number of student homes and shared housing properties in places such as Redland, Cotham and Bishopston, and where these can be older Georgian or Victorian buildings, damp and mould can easily take hold. This is why many people book a damp survey or mould treatment with us so they can tackle the problem before it accelerates.

This example of how we handle sudden fire incidents shows why our team are among the first people to call when something happens.
A fire started in a warehouse at an Autoglass commercial unit and left the unit with heavy structural and smoke damage, with pressurised smoke gas carrying oily soot and acidic residues through the building. This threatened the stored glass, the equipment and the masonry.
We ran a structured, multi-phase remediation, making the site safe, stripping out unsalvageable materials, cataloguing the contents for the insurer, then HEPA vacuuming and an antimicrobial washdown to neutralise the acidic soot film, DOFF steam cleaning to lift embedded soot from the masonry, fogging to prevent mould and neutralise odour at a molecular level, and a final white-glove check to confirm every surface was clean.
The unit was returned to a safe, compliant and re-occupiable condition, with the smoke odour fully removed. You can read the full case study here .
When an emergency occurs at your property, you need a fast response that provides exactly what you need. Julie in Bristol left us this review after we attended an appliance fire clean-up.
“A team were assigned who contacted me to arrange arrival time at the site. The team, Toufik, Elena and Janina, were professional and brought all the equipment they needed to clean our kitchen and lounge following an appliance fire. They protected carpet areas that they would be walking on and left the site clean and tidy and no longer smelling of smoke. I would highly recommend them.”
