Spill response and environmental clean-up

A spill can stop a site, a station or a road until it is dealt with properly. Ideal Response cleans up oil, chemical and mercury spills and removes hazardous waste for organisations and homeowners across the UK.

What do you need help with?

Containment is only the first stage

A spill kit controls the free liquid, but an oily film and staining can remain, and footwear or vehicles can carry it further. Our job is to treat what containment leaves behind, in proportion to the spill, and to record the work. We provide waste documentation for anything we remove. The result depends on the surface and how long the contamination has been there, so we do not promise that every stain will disappear.

A spill happening now and planned waste or testing work follow different routes.

Two technicians treated the staircase by hand, then applied an enzyme treatment. The majority of visible staining was removed during the same-day attendance.

“For a spill this size, the right response was not more machinery, it was careful, targeted treatment of what the initial containment had left behind.”

Spill and waste questions

We have used a spill kit. Do we still need you?
Possibly. Absorbent controls the free liquid, but residue and staining often remain and can spread on footwear or tyres. Send photos and we can advise.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. We are an Environment Agency registered waste carrier (CBDU601337) and provide documentation for waste we remove.
Will you attend the same day?
It depends on your location and the team’s workload. Call and we will tell you when a team can attend.
Are you accredited for spill response?
We are an accredited contractor under the International Spill Accreditation Scheme (ISAS).
